The Treatment is Working!

PET Scan confirmed that I am now officially halfway through treatment

Yesterday, we met with my Oncology Doctor and received the PET Scan results. It is based on a Deauville score (here is a link to the explain more). My D score at the beginning was a 5. This is the highest you can receive. Yesterday, we found out it is a 2.3!! This is great news. We are going to keep on course with treatments so 4 more infusions ending on Sept 11.

After that, we will wait 6-8 weeks to do a final PET Scan. This will hopefully graduate me from a patient to a survivor. I loved hearing that. Paul keeps reminding me that we found out about our first oncology appt in early Feb. We have had this in the back of our minds for almost 6 months and only have about a month and a half left of treatment. I should start to feel like myself around Sept 18, the day before my birthday.

It does make going into todays treatment a bit easier. We now know this is working. I am not going through this without results. Thank you all for your support! The thoughts, check ins, gifts, it is all helping. I feel like I have the biggest pit crew ever behind me and it is really what is getting me through. I am complimented on my fighting spirit and postivity and as an extrovert, I am getting a lot of that from all of you!
